This is an ice cream truck wrap that Innovative Signs will be doing for Kool Dayz. We will also be doing the designing of the wrap along with the installation. Vehicle wraps like this is a great way to get business exposure. Eye catching graphics and listing your services lets the public know who and what you are. For our Kool Dayz wrap, it will be full coverage. Meaning no body paint will be visible.

The first step in this ice cream truck wrap is designing it. Using Illustrator and customer input, we take those ideas and put them together as design proofs. As a result, the customer can see what it will look like on the vehicle. From there the customer can request changes or approve the design for printing.

After designing we got to printing. Printing a full wrap like this requires printing them in large panel sections. Building overlaps and bleed areas is essential to completing a wrap. This is because a wrap can’t be printed in one giant piece. So we print the wrap in manageable sections.

As for the installation we first remove a lot of the body hardware to aid in the installation. Then we clean the vehicle. Cleaning the vehicle allows the vinyl to cleanly adhere to the vehicle. As a result, the vinyl won’t lift and peel away later.

Lastly taking our printed panels, we place them on the vehicle and align them according to the design proofs. The overlaps allow us to line up the panels and continue down the vehicle. We continue this process around the vehicle until it is covered. The vinyl that we’re using is 3M high performance. This vinyl is for vehicle and outdoor purposes allowing for a longer lasting vehicle wrap.
