Custom made foam core posters with print

These are foam core posters that we made for a customer. The images were printed and then applied onto the foam core boards. We can print images and then apply them to various substrates that we have available for our customers to use. We could have also made these poster boards using PVC or Coro but the customer opted to use foam core boards.

We started first by building the layout of the foam core posters in Illustrator. The black outline/box is actually printed to give the illusion of a frame. Our printer prints these files just like any other job.

Next we cut to size the foam core boards to what the final product needs to be. Foam core posters can be tricky to cut out. It requires a strong and sharp blade to cleanly cut the foam. If not, it will catch and create a messy cut. This is why each time we make foam core posters we always use a new blade.

Now that we have our foam core boards ready, we can install the prints on them. The prints are aligned to the corners using the crop marks and then applied. The backing paper is removed revealing its “sticky” side so it can stick to the board.

This is one of the completed foam core posters. The print quality of our printer is amazing. The better resolution of a picture you can give us the better the print will turn out. Foam core posters can be a neat way to decorate or be part of a display.
