We got a big order for some signage for Ft Huachua. It’s 215 aluminum and print signs! These signs are made from 12×18 aluminum blanks with print applied on them. The purpose of these signs is to alert people to the dangers of laser radiation at their facilities in English and Spanish languages. They are designed in the universal black with red oval and white “danger” text in both languages to let people know about the dangers of laser radiation and to leave the area. The design has English and Spanish “danger” side by side with English and Spanish descriptions under it. A danger sign like this cold be done in cut vinyl. However, the small text size of the descriptions, it wouldn’t be a good alternative considering how many signs are going to be made. This is what the danger signs being printed looks like coming off our printer. You can think of them as large stickers that will be applied over 12×18 aluminum blanks to complete these aluminum and print signs.
After they have printed we have to let it dry out completely for 24hrs before laminating the prints. After being laminated we cut out the individual prints and cut along the crop marks. These crop marks also help with the alignment of the signs to the aluminum blanks. We align the corners of the aluminum blanks to have perfectly aligned and centered signs.
The prints have been mounted to the aluminum blanks and the excess is trimmed off the edges. These are the completed aluminum and print signs.
