Aerojet General – Friends of Midas

Innovative Signs recreates a vintage sign for Friends of Midas.

Friends of Midas is an organization that helps with the preservation and education of the historic mining town of Midas, Nevada. We have built several replicas of old signage that used to exist. We rebuild these old signs as new production but give them a vintage or rough look. This is a new sign that we did for them for one of their buildings. Here is the progression of the Aerojet General sign.

In order to rebuild this, we needed a reference picture of the sign. We were given a picture of what we needed and we rebuilt it. It would be a printed graphic mounted to an aluminum panel. It was made in Illustrator, a vector based program for graphics.

Then we printed the graphic. We waited 24hrs before we could laminate it. The laminate protects the print and allows it to last longer because it will be outside at their location.

At this stage we bring out the aluminum panel. It is cut to size to fit the graphic and then cleaned.

Aerojet General Sign Mounted

The graphic got mounted to the aluminum blank. It looks finished but it’s not yet. The customer asked us to drill holes so they can mount it to their building.

Aerojet General Sign Completed

Here is the completed sign. This aluminum and printed sign had drill holes made and now it is ready for the customer to pick it up.

Thanks Friends of Midas for doing business with us.
